How to use the flexible video gastroscope?

Before using the flexible video gastroscope, make sure that your stomach is empty and the doctor will also advise you to stay empty stomach for a few hours before the procedure. To make you feel relaxed, the doctor will give you local anesthesia so that your throat becomes numb. In this process, you will keep your mouth up and a mouthguard will be applied so that your teeth remain safe. The doctor inserts it through the mouth and with the help of a stirring wheel or knobs, rotates and bends it inside the stomach. With the help of the camera attached on the upper part of this device, he captures the video and photos inside of the stomach and examines them on the monitor. If there is any kind of liquid in the stomach, then water or air is used to remove it. If the doctor finds any issues in the stomach, he will take a few samples of cells for lab testing. This procedure takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

Disclaimer: Please sterilise by putting in Formalin chamber for 30 minutes by ETO gas. Do not autoclave, do not put in Cidex. Clean thoroughly after use, flush instrument channel with 10 ML 1% betadine solution and rinse afterwards with 10 ML NS. Place protective sleeve provided over the Distel end. Put in same metal box after use in bubble wrap or in a plastic box.
