Detailed description: It is a 5 in 1 device and is an ingenious merger of a telescope, sheath and LED light source and endo camera and irrigation channel. The instrument is made up of two stainless-steel tubes welded to each other one below the other. It has a working length in a range of 15 cm to 30 cm and an outer diameter in the range of 7 mm. (figure:1,2) The upper tube is the camera channel. (Figure:1B,4, figure:2B,7) It has a video camera (figure:1A,1 and figure:2A,1,4) with LEDs (figure:1A,2 and figure:2A,2) for illumination. The video signal from the camera is carried by a bunch of wires (figure:2B,5) through the metal tube and connected to the analogue to digital converter circuit. (Figure:2B,9) It is placed in a hollow cylinder-shaped holder. (Figure:1B,7 and figure:2B,8) The output of this circuit is given to the USB pin (figure:1B,8 and figure:2B,10) which is fixed to the back end of the Delrin cylinder. This Delrin cylinder acts as a holder for the device operator. A USB wire connects the device to variety of devices such as desktop, laptop, android mobile phones and android based tabs. The device comes with software which needs to be installed on the display devices to see and records the images and the video.
The device has another stainless-steel tube of welded below the camera channel and acts as an irrigation channel (figure:1A,3 and Figure:1B,5), (figure:2A,3 and Figure:2B,6) for the irrigation of fluid during arthroscopy It has inner diameter in the range of 0.1 mm to 10 mm. The back end of irrigation channel has a nozzle with a Leur lock. (Figure:1B,6 and figure:2B,11) The tube of the irrigation fluid fits and locks into this Luer lock. The device is reusable and is sterilized by putting in Formalin chamber for 30 minutes or by Ethylene Oxide gas. The device is commercialized at a reasonable cost of Rs.30,000 compared to the Rs.5-8 Lakh of the equipment available in the market.
The device can also be used as a neuro-scope which is used for neuro endoscopy of the brain and ventricles. It is particularly used for endoscopic procedure for treatment of hydrocephalus called endoscopic third ventriculostomy.

The technical advances of my device over prior arts are as follows:
My rigid video neuroscope/hysteroscope device is a 5 in 1 device, made with “Chip on the Tip” technology, a unique merger of a telescope, light source, sheath and endo-camera with channel for irrigation and instrumentation used for a procedure called arthroscopy, the examination of joint cavities. It is comprising of a stainless- steel tube containing a video camera, light emitting diodes (LEDs), a holder containing analogue to digital converter circuit of the front camera, an irrigation channel cum instrumentation channel and a male USB pin as output used for the procedure of arthroscopy. Since the video camera is at the tip of the endoscope, there is no image loss. LEDs at the tip illuminate the field, hence no light guide and external light source are required. No endo camera necessary as the video camera is inbuilt at the tip. My device has a USB output as a male USB pin which connects to a USB cable that connects the device to the computer desktop, laptop, android device or a mobile phone and a free software given along the instrument installed on the display devices has a facility for display and recording of the video and images, a feature absent in prior art. The prior art devices are imported and costly costing about Rs. 6-10 Lakhs, whereas my device is cheap and indigenized and commercialized for only Rs. 30,000. My device is in tune with government of India’s Make in India policy.
Intended application: The device can also be used as a neuro-scope which is used for neuro endoscopy of the brain and ventricles. It is particularly used for endoscopic procedure for treatment of hydrocephalus called endoscopic third ventriculostomy. It can also be used as a hysteroscope.
Method of using device: The device is sterilized by Ethylene Oxide gas sterilization. The patient in proper position with parts prepared and draped. The device is connected via a USB cable to the display devises and images and videos start streaming on them. The device is gently inserted into the joint cavity and the nozzle connected to saline irrigation. The illumination of LEDs adjusted to get a clear picture. The joint cavity lesion identified clearly. A biopsy forceps passed through the instrumentation channel to get the biopsy of the lesion. Many operating forceps can be passed through instrumentation channel for various surgeries. Images and video recorded on a software installed on display devises. The device gently taken out and cleaned and sent back for sterilization.
